Hello Reader, Welcome back, gluten-free friends! I’ve got a fun one for you today — new deals, new recipes, exciting food label news, and some seriously good snacks you’ll want to stock up on. Let’s get into it! Big GF Labeling News from the FDAThis week, the FDA issued a Request for Information (RFI) about gluten ingredient disclosure and preventing gluten cross-contact in packaged foods. In plain English? They’re asking the public — including our community — to speak up about labeling issues related to barley, rye, and oats that may be cross-contaminated with wheat. Personally, I would love to see food companies clearly list barley, rye, and sources of oats on labels so we don’t have to guess what is actually safe. Transparency matters. The Department of Health and Human Services said they are “demanding radical transparency in packaged food ingredients that affect health conditions and diet-related allergies,” adding that “Americans deserve clear, reliable information about what’s in their food and how it’s made.” Right now, the FDA is collecting real-world experiences — including adverse reactions and labeling concerns — to help guide future policy decisions. Obsessed with BFreeI included BFree Soft Original Wraps in my January Love Me Gluten Free box — and let me just say — these are powerhouse tortillas. They don’t tear (even when overstuffed), they taste amazing, and they’re big — which is basically unheard of in GF! It’s been such a joy introducing you to BFree. I swear they keep improving their recipes because every batch keeps getting better and better. Find them at Target, King Soopers, and Fred Meyer, or use the store locator at bfreefoods.com. And go watch me make this beautiful, folded, high-protein wrap on Instagram.
