🍪 Girl Scouts Launches Its First Allergy-Friendly Cookie!

Girl Scouts just announced its first-ever allergy-friendly cookie, and yes, it's gluten-free! 🎉

The new Sparkables, created in partnership with Partake Foods, are crunchy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with colorful sprinkles. They're made in a top-nine allergen free facility.

Here's the catch: They'll only be available online through Girl Scouts' Digital Cookie platform starting in January.

Truth be told, I'm not a crunchy-oatmeal-cookie girl, but I LOVE seeing cookie season become more inclusive! 💚

🤔 Now if only they could make Thin Mints and Tagalongs gluten-free, then we'd really be onto something.

🍪 What Happened to Enjoy Life Foods?

Remember when Enjoy Life made... everything? Breakfast bars, cookies, brownies, trail mix, chocolate bars, baking mixes, protein bites. For years, they were the "it" brand for the gluten-free and allergy-friendly communities.

Then, suddenly, most of their products disappeared.

So what happened to Enjoy Life? I researched it all, and there's quite a story behind the rise, acquisition, and shrinking of this once-beloved gluten-free brand.

📦 September Was Full of NEW!

❤️ A Personal Note

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins tonight. It's a time I reflect on the year behind me and the year ahead.

This year, I find myself feeling especially humbled and grateful. The fact that you follow along with my adventures, support the things I'm building, and choose to be part of this gluten-free community means more to me than you know.

To my Jewish readers, Shana Tova. 🍎🍯 I wish everyone here good health, happiness, and peace.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that today marks 25 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. I was a few years out of college and working in a high-rise in downtown Chicago. So much from that terrible day is still burned into my brain.

My husband and I visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York this summer, and as I walked through it, I had a huge lump in my throat. Even writing this brings that lump back. It's still such a painful day in my heart.

And most importantly, 25 years later, we owe it to those we lost never to forget. We must learn from history and remain vigilant against hatred in all its forms. ❤️
