Hello Reader, Merry [Almost] Christmas and Happy [Almost] Hanukkah. Hanukkah and Christmas rarely start on the same day, but this year, Christmas day and the first night of Hanukkah fall on December 25th. The reason is that Hanukkah follows a lunar calendar, whereas Christmas follows the solar calendar. The lunar year is a few days shorter, so that means, over time, the calendar would shift certain Jewish holidays to different seasons. For example, the winter holiday of Hanukkah would wind up in the summer, and the fall harvest holiday of Sukkot would wind up in the spring. To ensure the holidays fall in the right season, the Jewish calendar adds a leap month 7 times out of every 19 years. Does Santa Have a Gluten Intolerance?Santa's got red skin (maybe rosacea or dermatitis?). He's carrying around some extra weight (maybe swelling from inflammation?). And he looks awfully bloated these days. I'm no doctor, but I'd say Santa can't tolerate gluten. Let's help Santa feel better - here are my suggestions: (1) When making Santa cookies, choose from my list of 13+ easy and gluten-free holiday cookies. (2) Don't bake? Pick up some Flax4Life muffins or brownies instead. He won't know they're gluten-free (because they taste really good), and you'll be helping Santa stick to his healthy eating goals. 🎁 Hurry! Use the code LoveMeGFDEC to get 25% off any order at flax4life.net. Stock up for Christmas and the New Year! These muffins freeze well.
(3) Leave Santa a bottle of probiotics. Probiotics will help him balance the good and bad bacteria in his gut. I take a daily probiotic every single day; so should Santa. If your gut is giving you trouble, read my article, The Benefits of Probiotics. You'll also learn how to pick the right probiotic strain and dosage. (4) Finally, to ensure Santa sticks to his gluten-free goals in 2025, don't forget to order him a Love Me Gluten Free subscription box. Bet you didn't know I can ship to the North Pole! See details below. 👇 Last Minute GiftsMost of you know I founded Love Me Gluten Free, a dedicated gluten-free subscription box. Hanukkah RecipesCheck out my 18+ Gluten-Free Hanukkah Recipes - including latkes, jelly donuts, homemade applesauce, and homemade gelt! I'm gearing up to start cooking next week! Christmas Fun!The holidays are the perfect time to play with your food. In my December Love Me Gluten Free box, I included gluten-free Joy Cones. These are obviously delicious and fun to eat, but did you know you can also use them to make edible crafts?!? These two recipes are from the Joy Cone website. Of course, swap all ingredients for gluten-free options.
I'm not crafty, so I love eating sugar cone shards over a bowl of ice cream, along with other yummy toppings. In fact, I rarely buy ice cream with inclusions (just plain ice cream for me) to avoid hidden gluten, so adding my own toppings are a must! Here are two potential ice cream toppings to consider: (1) Sweetapolita Spinkles. You've got to visit Sweetapolita online to check out all the whimsical and fun jimmies available, including holiday decorating kits and Valentine's kits (it's never too early to plan for Valentine's Day!). Everything is labeled GF. Sweet! Use the code GOODFORYOU20 for 20% off at sweetapolita.com. (2) Justin's Candies. Justin's makes M&M-like candies without artificial ingredients and food dyes. If you love peanut and peanut butter M&Ms, you will LOVE Justin's candy pieces. You can find them at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and most grocery stores nationwide. Hello Reader, I've got a busy weekend ahead of me. We're packing our February Love Me Gluten Free boxes. I created Love Me Gluten Free so that you could sample all the fun goodies I got to sample as a blogger. Brands often send bloggers and influencers products to sample, but sampling those products alone is no fun! Now, through LMGF, I get to sample the products alongside you. It's so much more fun, isn't it?!? If you reserved a February box, it ships on Monday! 🙌 We don't have any February...
Hello Reader, "What happens if you eat gluten?" I'm asked this question the most by well-meaning new friends. Given my profession and strict 100% diet, I'm a magnet for questions about my diet. Of course, I don't mind sharing, and I honestly like it when people ask questions. If you're curious how I answer the "What happens when you eat gluten?" question (hint: 🚽) or you want to see the other top questions about celiac disease I'm asked all the time, read my article, I Have Celiac Disease,...
