Hello Reader, My husband and daughter are off visiting schools this week, which means I'm home alone⦠and not really in the mood to cook. Yesterdayās meals? Cracker nachos (aka Crachos) and a bowl of fresh pasta. I knowāmy eating habits revert to those of a teenager when Iām home alone. š Before I share this week's news and updates, I wanted to let you know that my jam-packed November Love Me Gluten Free box is available for pre-order. š š Get 20% off any subscription with the code NOVEMBERJOY at lovemeglutenfree.com (new subscribers only). Can We Make Crachos a Thing?Crachos are cracker nachosāa twist on traditional nachos. Instead of tortilla chips, you use sturdy crackers (like Crunchmaster Avocado Toast Crackers) to create a single layer, then top each cracker with beans, salsa, cheese, and any toppings you love. Bake until bubbly and crispy, and every bite is perfectly coatedāno sliding toppings, just crunchy perfection. Thank you, Crunchmaster, for inspiring and sponsoring this recipe idea. Yum! Life Before GF Labeling LawsItās hard to believe, but there was a time when gluten-free labeling laws didnāt existāthis was the case when Jules Shepard, founder of GF Jules, was diagnosed with celiac disease. Jules, along with others, famously baked the tallest gluten-free cake and stood before the FDA to force the creation of standardized gluten-free guidelines. Her tenacity has made eating gluten-free much easier for all of us. I chat with Jules in my latest episode of Gluten Free Unwrapped, where she shares her battle with the FDA, how she created one of the first all-purpose gluten-free flour blends, and her deeply personal business struggles along the way. š§ Listen to this information-packed episode wherever you get your podcasts - Apple Podcast | Spotify. Hello Reader, Next month, Love Me Gluten Free turns two. And weāve come a long way since those humble beginnings in my basement, where friends and family helped me pack our very first boxes. Remember my first box ever? It was themed "Love From Colorado" and featured brands from my home state. This business hasnāt been easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding. Iām grateful to every single one of you who has supported this journey, whether youāve purchased a box, followed along through these...
Hello Reader, It's the first day of spring, and I've got a new Nima test, fun recipes, new product finds (and discounts), and more. Let's get to it! Testing Drumroll Donuts š© I think Iām losing my mind. I saw a celiac creator post about Drumroll donuts, saying they contain oats, but when I checked the ingredient list. There are no oats. Regardless, I thought, let's go ahead and test them with my Nima, just to put everyone's mind at ease. As you know, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship...
Hello Reader, Many of you have told me how much my weekly newsletter means to you, and truly, that feedback never gets old. That said⦠a few of you have gently (and not-so-gently š) mentioned that my Friday emails can be a bit long. Fair. I do tend to have a lot to say.
